*Wondering why cartoon images are used? It’s simply to protect the privacy of everyone, especially our kiddos who may not want their images online. In specific blog posts you’ll see pictures of Captain and Commander*

Captain (Mom, hard-of-hearing)

Captain is the heart and soul of the pack. She’s in her early 40s and has been navigating hearing loss since she was 12. As the primary handler and trainer, Captain is determined to raise Blake to be the perfect hearing service dog. With years of experience using top-of-the-line hearing aids, Captain understands the challenges of living with hearing loss and is passionate about making Blake a crucial partner in her journey. She’s patient, loving, and always focused on helping Blake reach her full potential.

Commander (Captain’s husband)

Commander is the supportive and steadfast second-in-command of the pack. An Army veteran who served two tours in Iraq, he’s no stranger to discipline and resilience. He’s a hands-on dad and partner, lending his strength and experience to the journey of training Blake. His military background brings a calm and assertive energy to the pack, and he’s a rock for both Captain and Blake as they work towards their goals.

Little Paw (6-Year-Old Daughter)

Little Paw is the youngest and most playful member of the pack. She adores Blake and loves to snuggle with her whenever she gets the chance. With her boundless energy and sweet nature, Little Paw is Blake’s little playmate, bringing joy and laughter to their time together. She’s also learning to help with small tasks in Blake’s training, making her an important part of the team.

Lovie Paw (13-Year-Old Daughter)

Lovie Paw is the nurturing and affectionate teenager of the pack. She shares a special bond with Blake, often cuddling with her and providing lots of love and comfort. Lovie Paw has a gentle heart and is always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it’s during training sessions or just spending quality time with Blake. Her caring nature makes her a beloved member of the pack.

Quick Paw (14-Year-Old Son)

Quick Paw is the tech-savvy, video game-loving member of the pack. While he’s more reserved and quiet, he enjoys having Blake by his side during his gaming sessions. Quick Paw isn’t as involved in the day-to-day training, but he provides a calm presence that Blake appreciates. He’s great at giving Blake some quiet time, making him a unique and valuable part of the pack.

Big Paw (15-Year-Old Son)

Big Paw is the eldest of the children and takes on a leadership role alongside Captain and Commander. He’s very interested in helping with Blake’s training and is eager to learn how to assist with her development as a service dog. With a responsible and mature approach, Big Paw is quickly becoming an essential part of Blake’s journey, helping guide her through her training with patience and dedication.

Gramp-Paw (12-Year-Old Black Lab)

Gramp-Paw is the wise elder of the pack. At 12 years old, he’s seen it all and brings a calm, experienced presence to the family. While his energy isn’t what it used to be, Gramp-Paw is still up for some playtime with Blake. He’s teaching her the ropes with gentle corrections and has become a mentor of sorts in Blake’s early days. The bond between them is growing, and he’s an important figure in Blake’s life, showing her what it means to be a well-behaved, loyal dog. Gramp-Paw was a rescue dog that came into the family at 5 years old. He’s not food motivated and not a great candidate for service work but he’s still a valuable family member.
